The Original Hildegard’s German Cuisine
Welcome to Hildegard’s German Cuisine! We’ve served the Huntsville community for over 15 years, here at the corner of Bob Wallace and Whitesburg. Every dish is freshly prepared from the highest quality ingredients, and served quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. Many of our cooks and servers have been with us for years, which means you will always have a team of people who are well versed in the Hildegard’s way of preparing and serving the best German meals in the area. We will never let you leave here hungry, or disappointed with your experience.
Our cooks boil, peel, fry, and mash over 700 pounds of potatoes, and hand-trim almost as many pounds of pork, chicken, and veal every week. That noise coming from the kitchen isn’t us doing a little creative construction! No other German restaurant in Huntsville prepares its food as authentically as we do, and we`re pretty sure you’ll be able to taste the difference.
We have partnered with some of the best vendors in the industry to bring authentic tastes of Germany to Huntsville: our sausages, our dark rye caraway bread, and our Laugen Bavarian pretzels complement the gravies, sauces, and dressings that are made from scratch each day. Each dish is carefully crafted in our small kitchen by a handful of diligent cooks. If you want to purchase a whole cake, get a gallon of our house-made soup, or pick up a dozen of our German orange rolls, we can make that happen. We just need a bit of a heads-up to have it ready for you.
Come in and sample one of our great imported German beers, or a nice red or white wine: our selections rank with some of the highest end restaurants in the area, and without the highest end prices. We are one of just a handful of restaurants in the area that are licensed to sell our beer and wine to go, and when the weather’s nice, our comfortable patio area is the perfect place to listen to music and chat with family and friends.
No meal is complete without one of our decadent homemade desserts: Hildegard’s German Cuisine is one of the only restaurants in Huntsville that makes every dessert in house. From the hand-cut apples in our apple strudel to our mile-high layer cakes filled with lightly sweetened whipped cream, you can be sure that you’re getting only the best and freshest dessert to top off your savory, well-seasoned meal. You will be really glad that you saved a little room!
All of us here at Hildegard’s German Cuisine look forward to your visit, and we are at the ready to make your meal with us a second-to-none experience. If there is anything we can do to make your visit more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to ask.
